CEGEDIM becomes, with its translation company EDITRAD, the first company in France to offer its customers a digital invoice approved by the Directorate General of Taxes (No. 92001) in EDIFACT, ODETTE and GENCOD formats.

Peppol and Medical Device Regulations

New regulations mean importers and distributors must adhere to certain rules before placing a device on the market. Devices that received a CE mark under MDD can continue to market in the EU but will need to be recertified under MDR by a Notified Body before 2024.

Adopting Peppol will allow businesses to adhere to new rules and guidelines swiftly and efficiently, safeguarding their ability to trade with the NHS Supply Chain and future-proof operations.

These are as follows:

  • Ensure the manufacturer, the importer, and the device itself meet the MDR requirements.
  • Ensure a Unique Device Identifier (UDI) has been assigned by the manufacturer.
  • The storage and transportation of devices must maintain the label conditions set by the manufacturer.

Q:What is an ASN?

A: An Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) is an electronic notification sent directly to the customer, supplier, or 3PL provider. It follows a similar format and structure to a delivery note, the main difference being an ASN contains more information and is sent ahead of delivery.

The most impactful benefits of implementing advance shipping notices are the reduction in processing time and the increase in the accuracy of information.

A Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) is a unique set of 18 numbers attached to a barcode that identifies a logistic unit. GS1 defines a logistic unit as any combination of units put together for transport and/or storage where the specific unit load needs to be managed throughout the supply chain. Some examples of logistics units are cases, pallets, or air cargo containers.

The barcode can be viewed to a higher trailer load level to allow for greater visibility of the delivery contents without manual intervention into pallets. Scanning this code can automatically send the contents of the delivery straight into your office systems – breaking the loophole of human error and manual data entry.
